I created this series inspired by the colors in toy tools and artwork. I used it as a study of color, composition and contrast. It was a Design and Art-Direction exercise as much as it was photo-shoot.
Converging lines and triangles are a great way to guide the viewer in an image and my goal was to play with the lines created by each tool and see where that would take me. Adding as many triangles as possible to the mix.
Color and contrast also helped in this exploration enhancing weights and textures.
I kept the lighting simple with defined shadows to add negative space but shaped it enough that all the different textures could pop and stand out.
After shoping for tools and picking colors, fabrication was simple.Prime, paint and shoot.
