Inspired by 1960s science fiction, I created this series to capture the moment an object is "zapped" in half by an unseen force.

My goal with the composition was to freeze the split second immediately following the cut, while the edges of the objects are still glowing red-hot. To achieve this, the fabrication process involved precisely cutting each item and developing a custom rigging system to make the two halves appear as if they were floating mid-air on set.
