Sonora

I collaborated with designer Abraham Lule to bring a piece of the Sonoran Desert into my Brooklyn studio.
The entire production was built around showcasing his custom Sonora typography in a natural, atmospheric environment.

We began by using printed backdrops to establish the horizon line and mountainscape. To add physical depth, we sculpted dunes and mountains out of blue foam, which were then coated in glue and sand to achieve a realistic desert texture and color. The typography itself was laser-cut in styrene and meticulously mounted to a custom fence model within the miniature set.

By combining these practical fabrication techniques with precise lighting, we were able to create a cinematic showcase that brought the typography to life.
