The pay gap between male and female soccer players is staggering. Based on 2019 figures, the world’s highest-paid male player earned 246 times more than his female counterpart.
I created these photo-illustrations inspired by Marta de Souza’s #GoEqual branded cleats and the #EqualPay movement amplified by Megan Rapinoe following the 2018 Women’s World Cup.
For the first image, I painted and arranged male and female soccer trophy figurines in-camera to form the #GoEqual logo. For the #EqualPay illustration, I utilized an isometric grid to digitally arrange the figures in a precise 246-to-1 ratio, visually representing the scale of the financial inequality.
